Agricultural Projects Financing Window
Information required to process Credit Applications

  1. List of Documents/ information required for credit application.
    1. Mandate to Borrow
      1. Board resolution to borrow
      2. Application letter indicating
        1. type and amount of credit required
        2. purpose
        3. Source of repayment and time
    2. Legality of the Borrower (Company, SACCOS /Association etc)
      1. Memorandum and Articles of association
      2. Constitution (for SACCOSs/Cooperatives)
      3. Certificate of registration/incorporation
      4. Valid business license
      5. Recent annual returns filed with the Registrar of Companies (for companies)
      6. Certificate of Maximum Liability from the Registrar of Cooperatives (for SACCOSs/Cooperatives)
    3. Business operations
      1. Audited annual accounts for at least one year
      2. Latest interim financial statements (management accounts).
      3. A feasibility study (business plan)
      4. Partial Budget covering list of activities to be done, cost of production, quantity of produce, price of output, revenues, profits etc.
      5. Financial projections covering the period for which the facility is requested.
      6.  Existing and previous banking relationships and borrowing history (other debts/ bank statements).
      7. History and details of Company, SACCOS, Cooperatives, etc. ownership, qualifications and experiences of the management team (CVs).
      8. List of major buyers and suppliers with their applicable terms.
    4. Security Description Mandatory
      1. Debenture on all assets (for companies).
      2. First priority legal mortgage on farm/business property being financed.
      3. Photocopy of title deeds · Search Certificate for free of encumbrances.
      4. Insurance on fixed & floating assets.
      5. Chattel mortgage on machinery, equipment and other assets financed by Agricultural Window.
      6. Assignment of receivables from sales of agricultural produces.
      7. Credit portfolio financed by the Window (On- lenders) Non-Mandatory.
      8. First priority legal mortgage on another property.
      9. Other securities, e.g. machinery, equipment.
      10. Shareholders Guarantee.
      11. Other Guarantees (e.g. PASS )
  2. List of requirement after credit approval. ·
    1. Submission of valid and original title deeds that are;
      1.  Free of any encumbrances.
      2. With a residual period of at least 2 years beyond the loan tenure.
    2. Submission of current land rent receipts.
      1. Submission of valuation report of the mortgage properties being not more than 6 months old and that have been carried out by TIB approved valuer.
      2. Submission of current and valid insurance policy.
      3. Payment of applicable facility fees in full prior to disbursement.
      4. Submission of the Board of Directors/Board of Trustees Resolution accepting the facilities on the terms and conditions of the letter of offer.
      5. Signing of letter of offer.
      6. Completion of security documentation including the registration with relevant authority.
