INCORPORATION & PURPOSE
Tanzania Investment Bank (TIB) was established in 1970 as a development finance institution (DFI). After operating as a DFI for about 25 years, TIB was transformed into an investment cum development bank in order to enhance its capacity to meet the challenges of the marketplace.
TIB’s principal objective is to provide finance and specialized investment banking services to corporate clients on a commercial basis. The range of products and services offered by TIB is intended to meet the requirements of the present day (complex) business environment in a manner that is flexible and responsive to our client needs.

SHARE CAPITAL
Subscribers to the share capital of the bank are the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (99.098%), Consolidated Holding Corporation (0.676%) and the National Insurance Corporation of Tanzania Limited (0.226%).  The authorized share capital of the bank is TZS 100 billion of which TZS 23.7 billion is fully paid up
